The PlayStation 30th anniversary is officially here, and Sony isn’t holding back. To honor the console’s 1995 debut in North America and Europe, the company is rolling out a wave of nostalgia-infused collectibles, including a premium book and a sneaker collab with Reebok.
PlayStation 30th anniversary book opens pre-orders worldwide
Leading the celebration is PlayStation: First 30 Years, a massive 400-page photography book crafted in partnership with gaming archive publisher Read-Only Memory. The volume dives deep into the history of the PlayStation brand, from the gray PS1 to the ultra-modern PS5.
Two editions are available:
- Standard – £95
- Deluxe – £245 (boxed, includes exclusive art prints, limited to 1,994 units)
Pre-orders are live now, with global shipping expected in spring 2026. Sony describes it as a “visual journey” and claims it will be a future collector’s item.
Reebok joins the PlayStation 30th anniversary lineup
Sony is also celebrating the PlayStation 30th anniversary with a Reebok sneaker capsule, designed to reflect the brand’s 1994–1995 global launch era. Each pair nods to a different region and vintage Reebok silhouette:
- Japan – InstaPump Fury 94
- U.S. – Pump Omni Zone II
- UK – Workout Plus
Each sneaker features PlayStation-themed color palettes, controller iconography, and packaging inspired by the original console box. Pricing hasn’t been announced, but the drop is expected in October.
The full PlayStation 30th anniversary collection goes beyond merch
In addition to the book and sneakers, Sony is launching:
- Retro gray PS5 consoles
- Matching DualSense controllers
- Throwback faceplates for a classic look
Altogether, the company is embracing nostalgia with designs that connect PlayStation’s past to its present. Even so, Sony is keeping some details close to the chest, like pricing and stock availability for the sneaker lineup.

Sony’s tribute to the PlayStation 30th anniversary isn’t subtle, but it doesn’t need to be. Between the deluxe book, region-specific shoes, and retro console gear, the message is clear: three decades in, PlayStation still knows how to own a moment.
